The Rescuer 6/24/18

A sermon on Galatians 1:1-5

Paul, an apostle—not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead and all the brothers who are with me,

To the churches of Galatia:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.”

Galatians 1:1-5 ESV

Seeing Blindly 6/17/18

Guest Preacher, Jeff Nine, preaches on John 9:1-41

For reflection on your own or with others:

1. What does it mean to “See blindly?”

2. How can that phrase relate to your own life and Christian experience?

3. Discuss specific examples where you have missed seeing what God has done or is doing around you.

“Better to be blind and see with your heart, than to have two good eyes and see nothing.”

-Helen Keller

Hold Fast To What Is Good 06/03/18

Pastor Josh preaches on 1 Thessalonians 5:12-28

For reflection on your own or with others:

1. Do any of Paul’s closing instructions surprise you? Why or why not?

2. How does a proper understanding of v. 18 change the way we experience the difficult times of life? (i.e. give thanks ‘in’ all circumstances, not ‘for’ all circumstances)

3. What does God’s promised faithfulness in vv. 23-24 mean for you?

4. How has this letter deepened your understanding of life in the ‘already-but-not-yet’ reality of Jesus Christ’s kingdom?
